We produced ten animated films for the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi, developing initial concepts and storyboards into fully realised 3D sequences.
Working closely with the teams at Journey and Squint/Opera, as well as the museum’s curators and historians, one of the key challenges was bringing historical stories to life while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Every detail mattered, from characters and clothing to environments, objects and architecture, with each sequence going through careful review and refinement.
At the same time, the films needed to feel part of the museum’s wider creative vision. Across ten different animations, we developed a consistent visual language that balanced historical accuracy with the overall style, tone and storytelling approach of the museum.
The project involved complex technical and projection requirements. Our team worked on site ahead of the grand opening, testing the films within the exhibition spaces and working alongside the wider project team to make final adjustments to colour, timing and projection, ensuring the work translated as intended from our screens to the museum environment.
